In 2024, Tlingit artist Alison Bremner was selected for the Starbucks Artist Collaboration Series, a national drinkware collection released in participating U.S. stores. The collection features three pieces: a ceramic tumbler, cold cup, and stainless steel tumbler, each layering traditional Tlingit formline design with contemporary pattern, color, and illustration.
Bremner's designs draw from her dual heritage. Her father was raised in the coastal Tlingit village of Yakutat, Alaska; her mother from Bainbridge Island, Washington. The collection weaves those two worlds together through formline figures, Northwest ferns, mid-century wallpaper patterns, and a front-facing Tlingit face — a hallmark of the art form.
"I really wanted a happy collection, celebrating having formline on such a large scale. I want people to feel like the cup belongs to them."
